What this is about
skated. is an app in which skaters find, ride, rate and add routes. It is run by Boppart Digital Precision. These terms apply to the app and to the website skated.app. How we handle your data is in the privacy policy.
By creating an account, you agree to these terms. Without an account you can look around in the app; the terms then apply to you as far as they concern looking around.
Who skated. is for
skated. is meant for skaters living in Switzerland. You must be at least 16 to have an account. If you are younger, you need your parents' consent.
skated. is free. There is no advertising and nothing to buy in the app.
Your account
You sign in with Google, Apple or your email address. Keep your login details to yourself, and don't pass your account on to others. What happens through your account is your responsibility, unless someone misused it without any fault of yours.
You can delete your account at any time in the app's settings. What is deleted and what stays is in the privacy policy.
At your own risk
The routes, photos and ratings in skated. come from other skaters. We don't check them in advance. Surfaces, traffic, roadworks and weather change, and a route can be different from how it is described.
- You decide yourself whether a route suits you and your skills.
- Follow the traffic rules. Where you may ride on skates, a board or roller skates is set by road traffic law, not by the app.
- Wear protective gear, and ride so that you can stop in time.
- Watch the road while you ride, not your phone. Guidance along a route is a help, not an instruction.
- Don't enter private or closed areas, even if a route leads there.
What you share
You can share routes with photos, ratings, comments, tours and goals. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. For this:
- Only share what you made yourself or are allowed to share. For photos, you need the rights to them.
- Don't show recognisable people without their consent.
- No insults, threats, harassment, discrimination or violence, nothing sexual and nothing that puts others in danger.
- No advertising, no spam, no false details about a route.
- No routes across private property or closed areas, and nothing that breaks Swiss law.
What you share stays yours. You allow us to store it in skated., to show it, to adapt it for display (for example by making photos smaller) and to show it for as long as it is in skated. This permission is free of charge and not exclusive.
Public routes and your ratings of other people's routes help everyone who comes after you. If you delete your account, we may therefore keep showing them, but without your name and without any link to you. If you want one of them removed, write to us at hello@skated.app.
Reporting and keeping order
If you see a route or a rating that breaks these terms or is wrong, report it in the app. You can block skaters you don't want anything to do with.
We look at reports and may edit, hide or delete content if it breaks these terms, is wrong or puts others in danger. For repeated or serious breaches, we may suspend or delete an account. Where it makes sense, we tell you what we did and why. If you disagree, write to us at hello@skated.app.
What we offer, and what we don't
We do our best for skated. to run reliably and for its details to be right. But we can't promise that the app is always available, works without errors, or that maps, heights and traffic details are right. Some of them come from other services, such as OpenStreetMap.
We may develop skated. further, change features or discontinue the service. If we discontinue it, we will say so beforehand, as early as we can.
Liability
skated. is free. We are only liable for damage we caused intentionally or through gross negligence. We are not liable for damage that happens while skating, for content from other skaters, or for errors in details from other services. Liability required by law remains unaffected.
Changes
When we change these terms, we update this page and its date. For important changes, we tell you in the app. If you keep using skated. afterwards, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can delete your account at any time.
Law and place of jurisdiction
Swiss law applies. The place of jurisdiction is the operator's registered office. Mandatory places of jurisdiction, such as for consumers at their place of residence, remain reserved.
